Donation Drive

The main purpose of Echoes of Salvation has always been to provide a powerful Christian role-playing game that can be used as both an alternative to unGodly-themed games and as an evangelization tool to open people to the gospel who would not otherwise even consider talking about Christ.

So, while the majority of the various products on this website do need to be purchased in order to be downloaded and used so as to cover maintenance and development costs, it would be far more preferable if some of these products could be given away for free.

For this reason, Echoes of Salvation now has a donation drive. How this works is that you, the user, will be able to make a donation to our cause. The donations of all users are cumulative and at every $250 milestone ALL digital products will be priced as free for a period of 30 days. This will also be cumulative. Thus, if a second milestone of $250 is reached before the 30 days of free digital content has expired, the expiration of those days will be extended by a further 30 days.

Obviously physical products will still need to be charged for as there are many various costs involved that need to be covered (such as construction, printing and shipping).

In this way, it is a hope that all digital content will be able to provided free of charge while still being able to maintain and develop the Echoes of Salvation role-playing game system and world. And besides, the less time needed to worry about meeting costs, the more time that can be focused on providing you with the best possible content and products!

So please donate and support Echoes of Salvation!

(Soon we will be adding a donation progress meter and free content days indicator so that you will be able to know exactly how your donations are helping us.)

  • Why a Christian theme? Many role-playing games have a strong magical element that focuses on magic and sorcery. From a Christian perspective, even though this is make believe, it is not something that one should play, in the same way that we would not play a game where we play as make believe porn stars. The Bible is clear that the very concept of magic and sorcery is detestable to God. However, the spiritual world is real, and to simply shun away is not the answer. In regard, the purpose of taking a Christian stance is to present a world, not where there is no magic, but a world in which magic is real, and shown for what it really is. In Echoes of Salvation, satan is real, but so is God, and God is far more superior, and prayer a far more powerful weapon than magic. The players start as weak disciples of Jesus, weak in prayer and faith in a world strong in corruption and spiritual evil. But as they grow and adventure, their faith and experience grows, allowing them to carry the light of Truth into a world of darkness, with a role-playing system that does not falter on quality and depth.

  • God is Triune, existing as three persons but one God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of Mary while she was still a virgin. Lived a sinless life but was condemn and crucified, taking all the sin of the world onto Himself in death. But he rose again, death and sin having no hold on him, and is exalted at the right hand of God the Father. The Holy Spirit of God works in all men's hearts to lead them to salvation and marks with a seal all believers and empowers them to walk in the power, call and authority of God Almighty. Man was created in God's image, but through the choice of sin was eternally separated from God and destined for Hell. However, through simple belief in Jesus Christ and acceptance of His personal sacrifice, we are forgiven our sins and granted eternal life if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus Christ is Lord. It is through prayer and study of the Bible, which is the ineffable, inerrant, infallible Word of the Living God, and is the final say in all things, that we grow deeper in our relationship with Christ. Our goal is to please Him. Our purpose is to know Him. Our focus is eternity.

  • Craig Shaw grew up with a love of games, specifically tabletop role-playing games and collectable trading card games. He played Pokémon and Tomb Raider, and was a top player of Magic: the Gathering. He also tried various role-playing games but was dissatisfied with them and spent many years developing and refining his own. However, in 2005 he joined CBI - Christian Bible Institute at His Church Pinetown. After setting his life focus on God he threw out all his fantasy-based games, including the very game he had spent so long designing, however, his love for games remained. He toyed with the idea of creating a Christ-based game, gave it to God and shelved it. He continued his studies for three years and got his Diploma in Ministry. He spent time working as an art teacher and also a comic book designer. Now, after an eight year hiatus, he has taken up his mantle and, drawing on his knowledge and experience of games and his studies from Bible College, has began work on a deep-themed Christian role-playing game which he hopes will bring honour and glory to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
